01 · SURVEYOR'S CHARTER
Commitment to Inclusive Wayfinding & WCAG 2.2 AA
At MuskegMaze (muskegmaze.org), operated by [Operator legal name] in [Operator country and province or state], we believe an expedition guide to browser games should be welcoming, legible, and effortless to navigate for every reader in Canada and beyond. Just as the red-cedar corduroy boardwalks and glowing amber beacons of our fictional peatland world carry travellers safely across dark bog water, our HTML, CSS, and interface controls are built so no visitor is left behind.
We target full conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). Our design system treats accessibility as foundational architecture rather than an afterthought—combining semantic document landmarks, high-contrast typography on solid carved-timber and bog-iron reading plaques, and predictable interactive controls.
02 · STILL WATER PROTOCOL
Silent Pauseable Hero Video & Reduced-Motion Fallback
The Opening Vista on our home page features an original animated loop depicting Warden Muskor Vael and aerial surveyor Mazira Kestrel over the sunlit fen canopy. To ensure this scene never distracts, startles, or triggers vestibular discomfort, it is governed by four strict safeguards:
- Strictly Silent Playback: The hero video contains no audio track whatsoever, ensuring it never interferes with screen readers or assistive listening devices.
- Dedicated Pause & Play Control: A high-contrast, keyboard-focusable Pause/Play button sits in the upper-right corner of the hero stage so any visitor can halt or resume playback at will with a single click, tap, or
Enter/Spacekeypress. - Automatic
prefers-reduced-motionFallback: When your operating system or browser reportsprefers-reduced-motion: reduce, the video does not autoplay. Instead, the stage displays the high-resolution static painting of the scene, and all CSS trail pulses, hover lifts, and smooth-scrolling transitions across the site are instantaneously stilled. - Battery & Off-Screen Conservation: Even when motion is permitted, the hero video pauses automatically when scrolled out of view or when the browser tab is hidden.
03 · TIMBER, IRON & AMBER
Keyboard Navigation, Focus Visibility & Colour Contrast
Every interactive element across MuskegMaze can be reached and operated using only a keyboard, switch device, or screen reader:
- Skip to Main Content: Pressing
Tabupon arrival reveals a prominent Skip to main content link at the top-left of the viewport, bypassing the header cornice directly to#main. - High-Visibility Amber Focus Ring: Every link, chamfered plaque button, mobile menu toggle, and expandable
<details>summary displays an unmistakable2px solid #FFF5B8outline with a3pxoffset and warm amber outer halo on:focus-visible, meeting WCAG 2.2 Focus Appearance and Focus Not Obscured criteria. - Generous Target Sizes: All navigation links, game facts toggles, and official publisher buttons exceed the WCAG 2.2 AA minimum target size of
24×24 CSS pixels, with primary buttons standing at46pxheight and comfortable spacing between controls. - Verified Colour Contrast over Art: We never place body copy over busy illustrations or translucent milky washes. All reading passages sit on solid, opaque dark red-cedar (
#26150B) or hammered bog-iron (#171412) panels paired with birch-bark cream (#FCF6EA) and warm buff (#D9CBB8) typography, exceeding the4.5:1contrast ratio for normal text and7:1for primary headings. - Resilient Without JavaScript: All prose, verified game facts strips (
<details>/<summary>), comparison tables in the Corduroy Atlas, and mobile navigation remain complete and operable if JavaScript is disabled or fails to load.

04 · COMMUNICATION SUPPORTS & FEEDBACK
Requesting Accessible Formats & Reporting Barriers
While we control every line of code on muskegmaze.org, our guide links out to the official websites of eight independent browser games (Hexanaut.io, Splix.io, Powerline.io, Curve Fever Pro, Little Big Snake, Slither.io, Florr.io, and Agar.io). Those external game arenas are operated by their respective publishers and are outside our direct technical control. To help you decide before leaving our guide, every official game link clearly announces its destination and includes a screen-reader note indicating that it opens an external site.
If you encounter any accessibility barrier on MuskegMaze, or if you require any part of our game guides, facts blocks, or policies in an alternative accessible format or with communication supports, please contact us directly. We welcome feedback from players, assistive-technology users, and accessibility auditors across Canada.
